Project Monday

I found this Thomasville TV cabinet at Goodwill!  It is a solid piece and it took Mr. MD and 4 big strapping men from the store to get it loaded up on our truck.  I bought it for my son in Birmingham and he said right away that it would look good painted black.
He's a chip off the ole block for sure.  I started looking at the inside and all the parts and had a few conversations with myself about if I really wanted to paint it.  But you know us Mama's, the things we do for our chillin'.
So out came the paint brush.  I used SW 6991 Black Magic All Surface Enamel, the same paint I used when I painted all the interior doors last year.  I painted right over the varnish...I sure did.  The Mr. said, 'you're going to have to sand that' and I thought, 'ain't no way'!  2 coats and it looks good.  I have decided not to paint the inside, will make sure all of the outside edges are painted. I may change my mind though, we'll see. Some of the shelves are on rollers and the 2 big doors slide inside.  I'm telling you for $60 I scored.  I'll do a follow up picture when it's all finished.  I think it's about 150% humidity in the garage, really did sweat bullets!

Speaking of painting doors....got my rear in gear over the weekend and tackled the last 7 doors in the basement.  I am officially finished with that project.  I have black fingernails but they're in style and I'm not coming to your house and painting yours.  :)

What projects do you have going on?

Foodie Friday

Oh my...where has the week gone?
I haven't left, I promise.  :)
I've been up to my eyeballs in textiles this week pulling 'phase 1' together for a client, knitting, trying to stay cool, knitting and keeping the home-front above water.
Whew.

This Italian Chicken Panini
from Williams Sonoma
is really quite yummy and easy to make.
Mr. MD has been frequenting the local farmer's market and brought in a 'zillion' pounds of Georgia peaches.  We sliced and froze them to have on hand...so yummy. Get your chillin' to help you put these together.

You know what to do about the flowers...
Get your favorite bucket and fill 'er up!

Have a great weekend...stay cool.

Foodie Friday

I love Salmon...don't you?
Especially cedar plank grilled.
Add a salad full of veggies with lots of color and some grilled asparagus and you have a great dinner!

and for dessert...
Grilled Apple Pie Stack
as long as you have your grill fired up, get to grillin' those apples.  You can pound the treadmill tomorrow...it will be worth it!

Don't forget your flowers!
Get some from your yard or your neighbor's and plop in a jar...perfect!

My friend Susan said she 'loves' Foodie Friday...how about you?

Textile Love - New Project

My friend and collegue Kathryn
asked me to collaborate with her on a design project. I am thrilled as textiles are my love and then pulling the rooms together with great design is the icing on the cake!
There are 3 bedrooms in this phase of the project.  One of which is a baby's room for the client's grandchild.
We are looking for fun with a bit of whimsey.
The client asked that there be some pink!
With my own grandchild coming in the fall, it's fun to think about baby decor.
There are two more 'adult' guest rooms, here's a sneak peak of a couple of fabrics we are considering for one.  In our haste to get on the road before the Atlanta traffic put us in a bad mood, we didn't get the pictures of the other swatches.  Will keep you posted.

Foodie Friday

What's for dinner?
Healthy fare....of course!

Turkey (or chicken or fish) lettuce wrap tacos.
YUM!
Fruit Salad
in a champagne flute...perfect.

Be sure and get out to your garden and bring in some flowers!

Happy Weekend.

Knitting

I'm obsessed.
With my first grandson coming in October,
I want him to have something special from
his 'Grammie'!
I have never made a blanket, only hats.
This is the best book for beginners, I highly recommend it.
Well...this is a pain in the neck.  Hand dyed yarn, cannot be put on that little 'thingy' at the yarn shop that balls it for you.  Oy...2 hours later finally 'get 'er dun'.

Here's where I am so far.
I had to start 3 times before I finally got going without major disasters.
Do you knit?  Crochet?
Casa de Moore's projects have been pushed back.
I think my little feller is going to enjoy what his Grammie so lovingly made for him!

❤
